Gina & Theo Engagement Photos | Jackson Street Bridge & Piedmont Park | Atlanta

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Gina and Theo by one of my favorite repeat clients (who happens to be Theo’s sister!), and I knew I wanted to get to know them better after our first phone call. Gina & Theo met in Philadelphia, and said that timing was everything for when they started their love journey. Their vision for their engagement session was so true to Atlanta and they had great ideas on the looks for their two locations: Jackson Street Bridge & Piedmont Park. While I love both of these locations, they’re a little tricky to shoot because of people. You never know if there will be wedding photos being taken at Jackson Street Bridge or maybe even a movie being filmed. And Piedmont Park almost always has some sort of festival or event happening, and it’s just a popular spot for Atlanta residents and visitors. I’m so thankful that on this day, during golden hour, both locations were practically empty. Theo and Gina are my first engagement session of the year, and it was great starting 2019 with such a fun, kind, and loving couple. As you scroll down, you can see the light get softer and softer as the sun set. It’s pretty dreamy and these are some of my favorite photos.

My top 3 favorite things from Gina & Theo’s engagement session:

  1. Chasing the light - we originally planned for a 2 hour session, but with the date change we only had about an hour of sunlight to capture some great photos at two different locations. I think we all felt the rush and excitement, but they made my job easy!

  2. Their playlist - I always ask couples to send me a few of their favorite music artists so I can make a playlist for us to listen to during their shoot, and Gina & Theo love some of the same artists as me! Examples: Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, The Internet, and Beyoncé.

  3. Braving the cold - it was slightly (very) chilly on this afternoon as the sun was setting, but we had to stick with our shoot plans. I love how Gina braved the cold in her super cute dresses and shoes, and how Theo embraced her in so many of the shots. This helped us get some authentic photos, but they were also legitimately trying to stay warm!

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
